In time for the festive season, December sees the launch of our ‘Wallis Weizen’ an American style wheat beer named after the stunning Lake between Forster and Tuncurry. We brewed this beer, following a poll amongst our Facebook followers and it is on tap for tasting and take-away (growlers, squealers and cans) from Friday 2 December in the Tasting Room at the brewery at 3 Dalman Street, Forster.
For the ‘crafty’ beer followers, Wallis Weizen is made with 50% German pilsner malt, 50% German wheat malt (hence the Weizen) and a clean fermenting yeast (meaning it isn’t a Hefeweizen). It is dry hopped with citra and galaxy to add a citrus twist. Wallis Weizen has a crisp beer finish and ideal for a summer’s day.
At the brewery we are all about enjoying LIFE – that’s local, independent, fresh, everytime and we draw upon local landmarks, and, in particular, beaches for inspiration for the names of our individual beers.
A large version of the photograph that is used in the Wallis Weizen poster [above] has a prominent position in the brewery Tasting Room. The stunning photograph was taken by local photographer Craig Mason from East Coast Photography (www.eastcoastphotography.com.au).
From Monday 18 December until Sunday 4 February, the brewery’s Tasting Room will be open every day (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Australia Day). Week days we will be open from 2.30pm – 6pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 4pm.
