Riverwood Downs – still rocking!

Riverwood Down Subsonic Music Festival

Riverwood Down Subsonic Music Festival

Back when the world was flat, when Molly Meldrum was king of Countdown and 3 day festival gate prices were only $25,  a 5 day music festival emerged out of the hinterland of Barrington Tops. The October long weekend in 1981 was the date and the event was ‘Tanelorn – The Festival of Transition’.

With crowd estimates of 30,000 and three sound stages, the following world class acts brought the house down time and again over the 5 day event; Midnight Oil, Split Enz, Rodriguez, Moving Pictures, The Church, Sunnyboys, Broderick Smith, Billy Thorpe, Kevin Borich, Men at Work, Mi-Sex and many more…

The music continues at Riverwood Downs with the 3 day Subsonic music festival now in its 10th year. Musical styles and technology may have changed yet the heart and soul of the 3 day festival remains.

Subsonic 2018 lineup includes; Andhim, Zip, Fumiya Tanaka, Sammy Dee, Raresh, Subb-an, Batu, with more artists added each week www.subsonicmusic.com.au
