If you’re lucky on your holidays you might get to sit back with a stunning view overlooking a beautiful beach, sipping an icy local beer whilst you truly get the chance to chill out. The beach will invigorate and the beer will taste really good and that’s what holidays are all about. Take it that one step further and why not name the beer after the beach! Coastal Brewing Co have done just that with the launch of their One Mile Pale Ale named after the reknowned One Mile Beach in Forster.
To celebrate their first business Birthday on 9 June, Coastal Brewing opened their tasting room to crowds enjoying beer brewed by locals with the mantra – it’s all about enjoying L.I.F.E – that’s local, independent, fresh, everytime.
Building on its enjoying L.I.F.E focus, all of the Coastal Brewing Company beer names link to the natural beauty of the Great Lakes/Manning Valley area in NSW.
Using all natural ingredients on a 1,200 litre brewhouse, the brewery produces fresh, craft beer for sale in kegs to restaurants, bars, clubs and pubs. The tasting room is open to visitors where it offers brewery tours and beer tasting, they even fill ‘growlers’ and ‘squealers’ for take-away consumption. Six packs and cases of 24 cans are also sold from the tasting room.
The head brewer is David Black who has a Graduate Certificate in Brewing from Federation University. David has dramatically changed his life’s journey, where prior to establishing the brewery he spent 25 years as a Chartered Accountant with a large accounting firm.
Co-owner Helen Black has 20 years’ experience in marketing and looks after sales and all other things essential to let the world know about One Mile Pale Ale! Drop in to see for yourself. Tastings on a weekly basis are:
- Friday: 2.30pm – 6.00pm
- Saturday: noon – 4.00pm
- Sunday – Thursday: by appointment (just give them a call to work out a time that suits you!)
They’re open more days in School Holidays and in spring and summer with events on their Facebook page.
