Forster Tuncurry Golf Club

Forster Tuncurry Golf Club

The Forster Tuncurry Golf Club incorporates the Forster Golf Club and Tuncurry Golf Club.

Tuncurry
The hidden gem on the Mid North Coast, very few players leave this course untouched by its natural beauty. The championship layout is sure to test golfers of all skill levels. Demanding from the tee the rolling couch fairways and relatively flat putting surfaces reward the player that drives the ball well from the tee.

The course has the great ability to handle rain in extended wet periods; the sand base keeps the course in perfect playing conditions whilst surrounding clubs are closed for days and weeks. Well worth a game and not to be missed if you’re passing through the area.

At Tuncurry we have a fully licenced clubhouse in a unique rustic setting called “The Cottage”.  It has a full wet bar, poker machines, change room and shower facilities, kitchen and meeting area, Nick Lumleys Performance Golf Pro Shop and wonderful outdoor bbq area where members and visitors can gather and socialise before and after a round of golf.

Forster
One of the friendliest seaside courses on the north coast, The Forster course attracts a large number of social golfers year round. At 4868 metres, Par 66 for the men and Par 68 for the ladies it’s generous fairways and forgiving rough are major factors in attracting golfers out for an enjoyable experience.

Don’t be fooled by the courses short par 4’s, smaller green’s, the sea breeze, bunkers and water hazards are not to be disregarded and have brought many a good round unstuck.

The course is nestled just off Forster’s One Mile Beach with holes 1 to 6 of the front nine on the beach side of the club house sure to remind you where you are, beautiful ocean breeze and glimpses of the sand.

At Forster we have our other fully licenced clubhouse overlooking the magnifcent Pacific Ocean. Facilities include 3 full wet bars, poker machines, keno, a smokers deck, change room and shower facilities and Buko’s Bistro inside the Cape Hawke Restuarant with a most extensive menu the Fairway Function Centre which can cater up to 220 guests, Nick Lumleys Performance Golf Pro Shop, and a large lounge area where golfers can socialse in a fun and friendly environment.

Decent offerings with a great selection of seafood if you book a platter before heading in. Only suggestion is that they offer plain bread as a side in the future. Bar area is spacious with big screens to catch the latest game. Shuttle service is top notch so leave the keys at home.

Reviewing course not the club. Played here 2 weeks ago. Its a typical public course with a very open layout bar a few holes. No great challenge but would be ideal for a fun mates day out. Greens were average to putt on and have a pretty plain design of round and mostly flat and are quite small. Worth a mention that one of the ground staff was pretty arrogant getting around in a machine at a high rate of speed around other golfers.
For the price it’s good, for a challenge its pretty plain.

The Tuncurry course at Forster Tuncurry Golf Club is a good quality layout, popular with local golfers. This tree-lined parkland course contains a variety of attractive holes and pleasant features, which should provide an enjoyable test of golf at a generally affordable rate. Worth a visit if you are in the area and have some time to spare.
