Riverwood Downs is a stunning location. We had a very hot stay of 38° but could cool off in the great creek & swimming holes. It was a bit noisy with other campers but it’s to be expected over Chrissy holidays. Fun craft sessions for the kids & the restaurant puts on a lovely meal if you run low on supplies.

Great place to stay, very relaxing. Campgrounds were really clean considering all the dogs that were around. The river was great to sit by and go for a swim.
Only downside was the roads in, GPS couldn’t find the location and the signs weren’t the best help. Also long dirt roads to get in there.

Such a friendly, peaceful and beautifully clean place to stay! Staff were friendly, food and bar services were available (and handy for forgetful first campers!), dogs were most certainly welcomed, soo much space and plenty of wildlife to sight and great info provided on arrival.
Thank you so much we will be back!

Went for 2 nights but ended up staying an extra night because we loved it so much! Toilets were clean and well maintained. Showers were wonderful as they were steaming hot and good water pressure. Kiosk had good selection of hot foods but I don’t recommend their ice drinks. For the price you pay it’s a bit of a let down.

Everyone on the ground was so friendly and courteous.

Was a bit nervous from the negative feedback but we will definitely go back again!

Unfortunately left very disappointed. First I’ll say the location is beautiful, the staff are friendly and the amenities are great. I was so excited when we arrived and Friday night was pleasant.

However, where it all went wrong was in the large engagement party going on in their venue which is only a stones throw from the riverside camp sites. Maybe on another weekend our experience would’ve been different.

There were probably around a hundred people at the party which started at around 3 on Saturday afternoon. The campsite turned into a car park from that time. I presume it was meant to finish at 10 given the strict 10pm curfew. Only it didn’t, it went on till somewhere around 1am. No sign of management making any attempts to break up the drunken yelling and screaming people. Cars with headlights coming and going most of the night. Sleep was not on the agenda for us until the wee hours.

We booked the riverside camping because we enjoy being out in nature, soaking up the tranquility and just relaxing. I doubt many people’s idea of relaxation and tranquility is being camped directly next to a hundred loud drunk strangers. If there had been any effort on the website to warn that there was a major event on so nearby, we never would’ve booked. I’m also just really disappointed that as far as I could tell, management made no attempt to keep the party under control to the point where others could enjoy their camping trip. This is despite having a long list of rules all about mutual enjoyment.

Safe to say we won’t be going back. Management – consider placing some kind of disclaimer on your website warning campers when you have an event on. Also, enforce the curfew for the sake of campers sanity and sleep!
